The Thinker Google Doodle For Auguste Rodin's Birthday

Google is celebrating the life of French sculpter Auguste Rodin on his 172nd birthday today.

The sculpture Google is using to remember his life is one of his most famous sculptures named The Thinker. The Thinker was finished in 1902, but not presented publicly until 1904. It is currently located at Musée Rodin, Paris but was briefly displayed in the U.S. at the St. Louis World’s Fair in 1904. Wikipedia documents the places the sculpture has sit over the years amongst other versions of it.

Auguste Rodin was born in Paris in 1840 and died on November 17, 1917 at the age of 77 in Meudon, Île-de-France.
