The Google Webmaster Central blog announced new enhancements to the “top search report” under Google Webmaster Tools. The new top search report is now filled with more details, more search terms, pretty charts and better filtering of the data. Let me take you through the various options.
The first thing you will notice in the new top search report is a Google Analytics looking graph. The graph plots your impressions and click throughs over time:
Under the graph is a more detailed report that also shows impressions, click throughs and your click through rate by query, the query’s position in the search results and also the click through landing page of that search result. Here is a screen shot explaining this data:
You can also filter the search report by keyword phrase:
Plus you can change the date range of the report:
Google is also now showing more than the top 100 queries, and paginating the results:
This is a welcomed addition to Google Webmaster Tools!
