Google Is Top Shopping Site, TheFind Passes Yahoo As The New Number Two

According to comScore data, Google Product Search has become the top comparison shopping engine online. Number two is now TheFind, which moved in front of Yahoo Shopping in terms of average daily users:

TheFind has been quietly moving up the ladder over the past couple of years and now has surpassed all longer-established competitors except Google. Yahoo recently decided to outsource its merchant listings/content to PriceGrabber, which is number 10. However, PriceGrabber can arguably claim the largest shopping audience online with the combined reach of its own site and Yahoo Shopping.

Unlike most of the comparison shopping engines TheFind isn’t primarily focused on SEM traffic arbitrage. TheFind is also well positioned to take advantage of the two newest and hottest trends in online shopping: mobile and local.

Update: Brian Smith of SingleFeed made the very fair criticism and point that the metric that this post reflects is daily visitors vs. total uniques. In terms of total uniques Yahoo still is ahead of TheFind, as are several other shopping sites on the list.

Compare Compete data, which shows Yahoo and NexTag tied for the top spot, followed by TheFind and Shopzilla. Google Product Search is not on the chart below.
