Google Analytics To Add Search Query Data From Webmaster Tools

Big news for webmasters and SEOs: Today at SMX Advanced, Google announced they will be adding Google Webmaster Tools data directly within Google Analytics. This was also announced simultaneously on the Google Analytics Blog and the Google Webmaster Blog.

The new feature is coming out later this month but is in pilot now. It will add a new section under “Traffic Sources” named Search Engine Optimization with sub-sections for Summary, Queries and Landing Pages. Here is a picture of the section:

Google also shared an example of the query report; here are screen shots:

Not only that, but you can also use this data to create deeper reports through the advanced reporting features. So you can compare impressions to clicks to conversions directly from the search results.

Google added analytics data to Webmaster Tools a little while ago, but continued to add useful webmaster reports to Webmaster Tools. Now that data is coming to Google Analytics, making Google Analytics a lot more powerful.
